East of the Czech Republic
Eastern Bohemia features a variety of interesting
places.
Broumovske steny (15 km) - A rocky
ridge on the border of the Broumov basin with a
place for pilgrimage Hvezda (Star - a baroque chapel
built according to the plans of Kilian Ignac
Dientzenhofer) and a view of the whole region.
Tourist trails are connected with the Polish ones.
In the vicinity, you can find also Jiraskovy skaly
(Jirasek's rocks) and the "mesa" mountain
Ostas.

Broumov (23 km) - The town with a
ground plan from the middle-ages, founded in 1348,
is dominated by a majestic benedictine monastery. It
hides treasures such as the only copy of the Shroud
of Turin found on the north of the Alps, a baroque
library with hundreds of manuscripts and a labyrinth
of underground passages that is unfortunately
unaccessible. On the cemetery, you can find the
oldest wooden church in Central Europe, the Church
of the Virgin Mary. It is possible to take scenic
flights from the local airport.

Castles - late classicist and empire
castle Ratiborice
(33 km) including "Babiccino udoli"
(Granny's valley) and "Stare belidlo" (Old
bleachery) known from Bozena Nemcova's books,
renaissance castle Nachod (34 km), late gothic
castle Nove Mesto
nad Metuji (44 km), baroque castle Kuks with statues
from Matyas Braun (45 km).

If the weather is not good, it is possible to visit
the sports center in Trutnov (karts, bowling, massages,
pedicure, cosmetics), to the Aquaparc in Nowa Ruda
or Kudowa Zdroj.

pilgrimage point called "Salesian Jerusalem" Wambierzice (45 km), spas Kudowa Zdroj

Polanica Zdroj (50 km),
Szczeliniec Wielky - Hejsovina (30 km) and Biele
Skaly - Bor (30 km), all connected to the Czech
republic tourist trails, trout fishing even for
kids, preparation at the spot.
